International pressure is growing on Israel to pull back on plans for an assault on Rafah as new signs emerge of a possible breakthrough in ceasefire talks.

Hamas has agreed to send a delegation to Egypt to discuss the latest proposal - which includes the freeing of 33 Israeli hostages in exchange for a six week ceasefire and the release of some Palestinian prisoners.

But chances for the deal remain entangled with the key question of whether Israel will accept an end to the war without reaching its stated goal of destroying Hamas.

Guest: Reserve Brigadier-General Amir Avivi (Ret.) former deputy commander of the IDF's Gaza Division and now heads Israel's Defense and Security Forum.
