The father of a woman allegedly murdered by her former boyfriend has spoken of his anger after it was revealed the accused killer was on bail.

The body of mother-of-one Molly Ticehurst, 28, was found at her home in Forbes, in the NSW central west, early this morning.

Her father, Tony Ticehurst, said Molly was loved by so many.

"I can say all the normal stuff that people say about how their daughter was beautiful, but Molly really was," Mr Ticehurst told 9News.

Daniel Billings, 29, was arrested this morning at Fifield, about 100 kilometres north-west of Forbes, and charged with murder.

Mr Ticehurst's grief is mixed with anger that Billings had been on bail for other offences and had been issued an AVO.

"Someone's got to be responsible," Mr Ticehurst said.

"If they'd have kept him in jail as the police wanted, we wouldn't be having this conversation."

Detective Inspector Jason Darcy said police had been confronted by a "brutal" crime scene.

"I was there this morning," Darcy said.

"It was, I would say, pretty brutal. My thoughts go out to the family of the young lady."

"It was terribly violent," he later added.

"I've [had] 34 years in the police, a former homicide detective, I've been to a few [crime scenes] and it was quite brutal."

Ticehurst's young child was not at the home where she was found. Police said the child was safe.

Anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage of Young Street in Forbes or Fifield about 2am today should contact police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Billings was refused bail to appear in Orange Local Court.
