The Rolling Stones headlined the opening day of New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival 2024's second weekend on Thursday night, and it was a show unlike the storied event had ever seen.

For one, the Stones had been booked twice before over the last five years, but had their appearances fall through due to Mick Jagger's heart surgery in 2019 and COVID in 2021. The legendary rockers finally making it to the NOLA Jazz stage this year was honored with the festival taking the unprecedented action of going dark on every other stage. Typically, there are up to eight active stages during the "headlining" slot — but who would want to play against The Rolling Stones?

With literally all eyes on them, the band delivered an 18-song set that included an appearance from the Soul Queen of New Orleans Irma Thomas for the Stones' first performance of "Time Is on My Side" since 1998. Local Zydeco accordion hero Dwayne Dopsie also came out to add his flavor to "Let It Bleed."

Below, see our exclusive photo gallery from The Rolling Stones' New Orleans Jazz Fest performance, along with the complete setlist. The show came three days after the band launched their "'24 Hackney Diamonds" tour with a show in Houston. They'll be playing stadiums across the US through July, and you can snag last minute tickets here.
