Montreal police (SPVM) are investigating after three cars were set on fire in Île-Bizard early Thursday morning.

Officers received a 911 call around 3:45 a.m. about vehicles that were on fire at a private property on Laurier Street, near Chèvremont Blvd.

According to police, they received a second call reporting the sound of an explosion.

SPVM said that accelerant was used, and they say this could be a case of arson.

The Montreal fire department (SIM) brought the blaze under control, but the vehicles are considered a total loss.

There were no reported injuries.

Montreal police report that two suspects were seen leaving the scene, after being caught on surveillance camera footage.

There have been no arrests made and the investigation currently ongoing.

Earlier this week, four vehicles were set on fire in the parking lot of car garage in Hochelaga-Maisonneuve.
