In a candid interview with People magazine, singer-songwriter Jewel opened up about her life journey, including her personal relationships and the choices she's made along the way that have shaped her music career and personal life.

Jewel discussed the challenges of her divorce from rodeo star Ty Murray in 2014, with whom she shares a son, Kase. The split prompted her to prioritize parenting over her career, a decision that wasn't made lightly.

"The divorce was not easy. Choosing not to work for seven years was not easy. Choosing to build something more than music was not easy," Jewel told People.

"Divorces... you have a lot of pain, and it's hard. Not wanting to give up that dream kept me in the marriage much longer than I probably should have stayed."

She also touched upon her relationship with Sean Penn in the mid-90s. Despite the potential for publicity that her romance could have brought to her debut album, "Pieces of You," which was initially failing, Jewel chose to keep her personal life private.

"Even when I dated Sean very early on, nobody knew I was dating him. I wouldn't do a red carpet with him. I was just very proud," she explained.

"I wasn't famous, and my album was failing spectacularly. I remember going to the Venice Film Festival with him, and I could have been on the red carpet and received a lot of media attention."

Addressing Rumors with Kevin Costner

When asked about the current rumors of a romantic link with actor Kevin Costner, Jewel firmly dismissed the notion that her happiness is tied to any man.

"I found love, and I'm not talking about with Kevin. I am so happy, irrelevant of a man. It has nothing to do with being in a relationship or not," she stated, declining to further discuss her association with Costner.

"I'm just happy," she emphasized, demonstrating an understanding that people are naturally curious about her love life.

Jewel shared that the love she is willing to talk about is the one she has found within herself, a discovery she's been seeking all her life. "I'm good," she concluded, signaling a sense of peace and fulfillment in her current life phase.

This interview not only sheds light on Jewel's past relationships but also highlights her journey towards personal fulfillment and self-discovery, marking a narrative of resilience and independence.
