York cops link same vehicle to four GTA cinema shootings

The incidents all took place on Jan. 24 Published Apr 25, 2024 • Last updated Apr 25, 2024 • 1 minute read A suspect vehicle has been linked to four separate shootings at cinemas across the Greater Toronto Area. Police in York Region say that officers were called on Jan. 24 to a theatre in the area of Hwy. 7 and East Beaver Creek Rd. in Richmond Hill after an employee arrived for work and found the glass front entry doors had been shot. Article content The same day, police responded to a similar call at a theatre in the Hwy. 7 and Weston Rd. area in Vaughan. Cops believe the same suspects are involved in both shootings in York Region and in similar incidents that occurred at cinemas in Toronto and Peel Region on the same night. On Thursday, investigators released video and an image of a silver 2019 Dodge Ram pickup truck as the suspect vehicle. Investigators would also like to speak with anyone with video surveillance or dashcam footage in the area around the time of these incidents.
