I live in a single-family dwelling area. A neighbour got tenants that did not have a care in the world, partying at all hours of the night, parking their vehicles anywhere they felt.  They parked in front of my house because their landlord did not want them parking in front of his house, because he needs those spots. Rezoning must consider not only where to put the people, but the two or more vehicles with nowhere to park, thus intruding into areas of the people who actually pay the taxes.

(Sounds like a crummy neighbour.)

Unnecessary

I like the city's new slogan. It's upbeat, optimistic, and reflective of the city's sunny climate. There was nothing wrong with the old slogan, though. It, too, was upbeat and reflective of the disposition and worth-ethic of the people that reside here. There was nothing exclusionary about it. We need to stop throwing money around trying to appease absolutely everyone. That's five million dollars that could have been better spent elsewhere.

(Agreed. Can't make everyone happy.)

Remember to vote

Do you truly believe that the mayor of Calgary is going to listen to Calgarians' concerns at this week long set of hearings on the subject of rezoning. After all, Gondek had the backing of the majority of city council, when the plebiscite was shot-down in flames on March 13. When these hearings end, Calgarians will be more angry and frustrated than ever before. But, the 2025 civic elections are coming and the Calgary electorate will have a golden opportunity to speak loud and clear on election day.

Donald K. Munroe

(Hopefully no one forgets about city hall's many gaffs while marking their 'x'.)

Hands off my money

Blue Sky City, really, that's the best that they could come up with. I want my money back. What was this, an exercise in wasting tax dollars and giving it to friends? We had an eight percent tax increase this year and city hall thinks that 4.8 million tax dollars can be wasted on something so stupid and trivial as a dumb slogan like Blue Sky City. Time to get priorities straight, Gondek. Waste your money, I don't care, but stop wasting mine!

Glenn William Cunningham

(No need for a new slogan.)

Pipedreams in Ottawa

With the new budget. Just one question: How are we paying for all the things that the PM has promised us.

Pharma and dental promised to us is a pipe dream.

Wow.

Ed Skelding

(We will see if that dream comes to fruition.)
