Try easy, hip-opening exercise from Bhagyashree

Actor and nutritionist Bhagyashree who is a fitness buff demonstrated an exercise that can be done by everyone to help open their hip flexors.

"Long hours of sitting can often impair your hip mobility. So here is an exercise that can help to maintain that ROM (range of motion)," she said in a post on Instagram.

According to Bhagyashree, the isometric exercise may look simple but with regular practice, one's range of motion improves.

In the video, she can be seen holding a bar on the left hand side and kneeling on her left knee while keeping her torso upright with her right hand side stretched sideways.

Make sure that you hold the bar straight 90°angle to the floor, spine erect and no other body part should move during the exercise.

Concentrate only on the hip joint as you move your leg up and then to the side and back.
