PM Modi speaks to Italian PM Giorgia Meloni, thanks her for G7 Summit invite

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been invited by his Italian counterpart Giorgia Meloni to attend the G7 Summit Outreach Sessions in Italy in June this year.

PM Modi had a telephonic conversation with Italian PM Giorgia Meloni and thanked her for extending the invite to him to attend the multilateral outreach session.to be held in Italy's Puglia, the External Affairs Ministry said on Thursday.

PM Modi tweeted, "Spoke with PM Giorgia Meloni and extended greetings as Italy celebrates its Liberation day today. Thanked her for the invite to the G7 Summit in June. Discussed taking forward G20 India outcomes at the G7. Reaffirmed commitment to deepening our Strategic Partnership."

The G7 Summit Outreach Sessions will be held from June 13 to June 15.

PM Modi and PM Giorgia Meloni also discussed ways to take forward the important outcomes of India's G20 Presidency, especially a boost to the Global South, at the G7 Summit under Italy's Presidency.

The two world leaders also exchanged views on regional and global developments of mutual interest, and reaffirmed their commitment to continue to strengthen the bilateral strategic partnership between India and Italy.
