Preity Zinta reveals MS Dhoni regret after PBKS vs CSK: Wanted him to hit big sixes

PBKS co-owner and decorated actor, Preity Zinta,, expressed her disappointment over the former finalists losing their must-win Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 clash to CSK on May 5. Priety Zinta, much like millions in the country, also rued lack of a special cameo from MS Dhoni in Dharamsala on Sunday after the former CSK captain was dismissed for a first-ball duck. In a recent interaction with her fans on X, Preity explained her take on PBKS's crushing defeat to CSK by 28 runs. Having triumphed over the same opponents in their previous clash at Chepauk, PBKS could not carry on with their winning momentum after a disappointing batting show in the scenic venue.

Having sent CSK to bat first after winning the toss, PBKS bowlers stepped up and did well to restrict the defending champions to 167 in 20 overs. The likes of Rahul Chahar and Harshal Patel played a special role for PBKS, picking up 6 wickets between them, which also saw the medium pacer bag the wicket of the crowd favourite MS Dhoni with a nearly-unplayable yorker. However, CSK redeemed themselves with an even better bowling show and shunned PBKS's run-chase, restricting the home side to just 139 for 9. The victory also saw CSK snap their five-match losing streak to PBKS, and that too in some style at the picturesque Dharamsala.

IPL 2024, PBKS vs CSK: Highlights

After the defeat, Preity took to her X account to reflect on her PBKS's performance, while also revealing how she wanted a big Dhoni show at Dharamsala.

Everyone wants him and everyone is his fan including me. Yesterday was bittersweet. I wanted us to win and him to hit some big sixes but we lost and he got out. The only bright spot was our bowlers did so well in restricting them but eventually it was not enough. https://t.co/24QcqGE93i — Preity G Zinta (@realpreityzinta) May 6, 2024

When a fan asked Priety if she would want to sign MS Dhoni in the mega auction ahead of IPL 2025, the PBKS owner did not shy away from expressing her appreciation for the iconic wicketkeeper-batter.

"Everyone wants him and everyone is his fan including me. Yesterday was bittersweet. I wanted us to win and him to hit some big sixes but we lost and he got out. The only bright spot was our bowlers did so well in restricting them but eventually it was not enough," Preity Preity's reply read.

Obviously, not very happy. We lost four games in the last ball. We lost our captain to injury. Some games was spectacular and some were not up to the mark. We will only do well in the future if we win our home games. Big thank you our fans for always supporting us through thick nâ€æ https://t.co/MDAnt89mNc — Preity G Zinta (@realpreityzinta) May 6, 2024
