Vijayawada: Chief minister YS

Jagan Mohan Reddy

's wife,

Bharati

, will be campaigning in

Pulivendula

constituency seeking votes for her husband and the party.

Bharati, who arrived at Pulivendula along with Jagan on Thursday, has decided to stay back in the town for the next two weeks. This is not first-time for Bharati to take up

campaign

in Pulivendula as she briefly campaigned in 2019 elections.

Sources said Bharati has decided to stay longer this time to monitor the electioneering keeping in view of volatile political situation in the district. A

vinash Reddy's wife, Samatha, is likely to accompany Bharati during the door-to-door campaign. Bharati would also handle the responsibility of Pulivendula assembly constituency in-charge for effective coordination between the field level leaders.

The political situation in YSR district (Kadapa Lok Sabha constituency) had taken a dramatic turn after Jagan's sister Y S Sharmila filed her papers to contest from Kadapa Lok Sabha constituency as the Congress nominee. Sharmila is taking on

YSRCP

candidate Y S Avinash Reddy, one of the accused in Vivekananda Reddy murder case.

The YSRCP leadership has decided to be extra-guarded to avoid any vote split in any of the assembly constituencies in the district. The party is very firm on improving Jagan's majority over the past elections which he won with over 90,000 votes margin along with retaining the Lok Sabha constituency by ensuring the victory of Avinash Reddy.

Previously, Avinash's father, Bhaskara Reddy, used to be the in-charge of Pulivendula constituency while Vivekananda Reddy used to handle the party affairs in the district.
