Jharsuguda Records 43.6 Degrees While Mercury Settles at 42.2 in Bhubaneswar by 2:30 - Odisha TV

Normal life was hit in Jharsuguda district which recorded the highest maximum or day temperature in Odisha by 2:30 pm on Thursday. The people in Bhubaneswar got some respite as the mercury settled at 42.2 degrees today after the city remained the hottest place in the state for two days.

As per the IMD data, Hirakud and Sambalpur recorded maximum temperatures of 42.2 degrees each while two other places- Keonjhar and Chandbali recorded maximum temperatures of 41.8 degrees each by 2:30 pm.

While Rourkela recorded a maximum temperature of 41.4, the mercury touched 41 degrees in Balasore by 2:30 pm today. Amidst the hot and humid conditions, no respite seems to be on the cards for the people in Odisha as the IMD has predicted a further rise in maximum temperatures.

As per the IMD, the maximum temperature (Day Temperature) is likely to rise by 2-4°C during the next 3 to 4 days at many places over the districts of Odisha.

 The IMD has issued a red alert for heat wave to severe heat wave conditions in several parts for two days in Odisha. As per the latest IMD forecast, the red alert has been issued for 9 Odisha districts on April 26 and 15 districts on April 27, 2024.
