Malayalee From India was released on May 1.

The allegation against Nishad Koya is that the story of the movie Malayalee From India, directed by Dijo Jose Antony, is plagiarised.

The plagiarism accusation against the Indian Malayalam film featuring Nivin Pauly Malayalee From India has sparked a significant debate. Hareesh Peradi has stepped forward to support screenwriter Nishad Koya on this matter.

Hareesh expressed his support for Nishad's actions on Facebook, stating that Nishad made the right decision. He added that only someone certain their story has been changed would speak out, particularly just before the film's release.

Hareesh Peradi commented that Nishad Koya's actions were justified, stating, "Nishad Koya did not do anything wrong. It is the right thing to do. Only someone who is entirely certain that their story has been suppressed would speak out just before the movie's release." Hareesh emphasised the importance of standing firm on the truth.

The allegation against Nishad Koya is that the story of the movie Malayalee From India, directed by Dijo Jose Antony, is plagiarised. It is claimed that this film has been plagiarised from an Indo-Pak story written by Koya. Furthermore, it is asserted that this is the same film that was supposed to be directed by Joshi in 2021, with Jayasuriya in the lead role.

The controversy surrounding the screenplay of Malayalee from India intensified, as scriptwriter Nishad Koya from the film Haal alleges that he had previously informed the filmmakers about similarities in his script long before the movie's release. However, film director Dijo Jose Antony and producer Listin Stephen have countered these claims, stating that Nishad only raised the allegations against the movie a day before its release. They also criticised his approach as unprofessional.

Some time back, in an interview with The Cue Studio, Nishad revealed that he had informed Dijo about the script's similarities more than a year ago. He stated, "I have a WhatsApp chat as evidence. Back in 2021, we announced a project based on this script, with Jayasurya set to star and Joshiy to direct. However, due to certain complications, the project didn't materialise. Subsequently, Jayasurya shared the story with Dijo, who appeared intrigued by the concept."

Not long ago, Malayalee from India premiered to mixed reviews. The movie centres on a Malayalee individual compelled to depart from his homeland due to unforeseen circumstances.
