LUCKNOW: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath has kept a tremendously busy schedule for the 2024 elections, having addressed as many as 67

rallies

and sammelans since the announcement of the model code of conduct till the end of campaigning for the second phase of polls on Wednesday. These included rallies in six other states.

He began his campaign trail with a Prabuddh Jan Sammelan in Mathura, and concluded with a roadshow in Meerut on Tuesday.

Till now, the CM's focus has been clearly on western UP, having visited constituencies that are going to polls in the first and second phases multiple times, depending on the contest arising on each seat. He has just begun campaigning for the third phase constituencies and is yet to visit central or eastern UP.

For instance, of constituencies which went to polls in the first phase, he campaigned twice each in Muzaffarnagar, Bijnor, Nagina and Kairana, one each in Shamli, Rampur and Moradabad, thrice in Pilibhit and four times in Saharanpur. The first phase of polling turned out to be tricky for BJP with Thakurs voicing their dissent against BJP. A mahapanchayat was held in Saharanpur, where Yogi had to travel four times. Pilibhit became a crucial constituency for BJP as well where sitting MP Varun Gandhi was replaced by UP minister Jitin Prasada.

Of phase two constituencies, the CM campaigned twice in Mathura for MP Hema Malini, four times in Meerut where the party has fielded actor Arun Govil (who played the role of Lord Ram in TV series Ramayan), thrice in Ghaziabad, thrice in Amroha, twice in Bulandshahr, twice in Noida, thrice in Baghpat, twice in Aligarh and once in Hapur. This year, the Baghpat seat has been given to BJP's newest ally RLD which has fielded Rajkumar Sangwan from the seat.

For phase three constituencies, he has campaigned twice in Fatehpur Sikri and once each in Hathras, Agra, Badaun and Bareilly.

In addition to UP, Yogi has addressed 19 rallies and

roadshows

in six states — Maharashtra, Jammu, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Bihar, and Chhattisgarh.

These included a rally in Nagpur in support of Union minister Nitin Gadkari and the maximum of six programmes in Rajasthan.
