HYDERABAD: Union home minister

Amit Shah

on Thursday said

Telangana

's comprehensive development was possible only with the BJP-led govt at the Centre and appealed to voters to give 12 Lok Sabha seats to the party in Telangana. He said a strong Modi wave was sweeping across the country, including Telangana.

Addressing a Vijaya Sankalpa Sabha meeting in Siddipet, which falls under Medak Lok Sabha seat, Shah said: "In the last one decade, the NDA govt at the Centre has resolved many issues, while

Congress

and BRS have robbed Telangana.

The Congress has turned Telangana into an ATM for Delhi and BRS party's corruption footprints have now reached the national capital. The Prime Minister will make the country corruption-free and take action against corrupt leaders in Telangana."

"Telangana can prosper only when the BJP govt is at the helm. Press the 'Lotus' button, choose Modi Ji, and see development coming!" he added.

In his brief speech, he lambasted the Congress govt alleging that despite the previous BRS govt's corruption, Congress was not ordering any investigation.

The home minister reiterated that the BJP will put an end to Muslim

reservation

, which was first implemented by the Congress govt and later continued by the BRS govt.

I assure you that we will not continue this reservation and will give the share to

OBCs

, SCs and STs," Shah asserted.

Alleging that both the BRS and Congress were scared of Asaduddin Owaisi-led AIMIM, the BJP strongman said: "We are not afraid of AIMIM. Other parties never celebrated Sept 17 as Telangana Liberation Day, but we have decided to celebrate it as liberation day."

Speaking about initiatives taken up by the Modi govt, Shah said: "We abolished Article 370 and made Kashmir an integral part of India. Ram mandir issue had been dragging on for years and in five years, after a favourable court decision, PM Modi got the temple built in Ayodhya."

Urging people to support BJP candidate M Raghunandan Rao, he said: "A vote in favour of Raghunandan Rao will help the BJP cross 400 seats and make Narendra Modi PM again."

Shah made it a point to mention to the gathering that since he cannot speak in Telugu, he was speaking in Hindi. He continued the trend startedby Modi by apologising to the people for his inability to speak Telugu. Shah spoke entirely in Hindi unlike Modi who tries to say a few Telugu words in his public rallies in Telangana.
