Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav has levelled a serious allegation against BJP president JP Nadda, claiming that he brought five bags of cash to distribute among voters during his recent visit to Bihar ahead of the second phase of Lok Sabha elections.

Speaking to reporters in Patna on Wednesday, Tejashwi Yadav said, "I have received news that he [JP Nadda] has brought several bags with him. He is distributing them at places where elections are taking place. Get this checked, the allegations are true. I am not lying. Agencies are helping him openly. He is coming from Delhi and bringing five bags with him."

The former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister also criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's mangalsutra jibe, saying, "Just look at the price of gold these days, women cannot even afford a mangalsutra today and they are talking about snatching it away."

He was referring to PM Modi's charge that the Congress, an ally of the RJD, has promised to snatch away belongings of common people, including 'mangalsutras' worn by women after marriage.

Yadav said that elections should be about issues and questioned the relevance of discussing 'mangalsutras' when gold has become so costly that most women cannot afford it.

He expressed confidence that the RJD and its allies will win all five seats in Bihar where polling is scheduled in the second phase and reiterated that "it is a choice between NDA and INDIA".

The remark was an obvious reference to former Purnea MP Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav, who has entered the fray as an Independent after the Congress refused to give him a party ticket from the seat where the RJD has fielded JD(U) turncoat Bima Bharti.

JP Nadda, who addressed several public meetings in Bihar on Wednesday, accused the Congress and its allies of standing in support of those who aim to weaken India.

Nadda labeled the Congress-led INDIA bloc as an "arrogant" alliance, urging the public not to support them.

The BJP and Congress are currently engaged in a heated debate over the former's allegation that the latter intends to seize the wealth of the people and distribute it among Muslims.

On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi added another point of contention, accusing Congress of planning to reduce the quota for Scheduled Castes (SCs), Scheduled Tribes (STs), and Other Backward Classes (OBCs) to implement religion-based reservations.
