From what it is understood 'Reveal' will be needing a DM to view content

Give your Insta stories a quick makeover with Instagram's introduction to new features for Stories. Instagram's new Story features will include new interactive ways to share music, photos, and videos.

The new feature is called 'Reveal' which when applied, blurs the contents of a story post. You can only see the post by DMing the person who shared it. Instagram head Adam Mosseri explained that the direct messages are gaining  importance as part of the platform and that stories and DMs account for most of Instagram's growth.

From what it is understood 'Reveal' will be needing a DM to view content. Industry experts suggest that the new upgrade might be the next evolution. It is believed that 'Reveal' has the potential to be used as an engagement hack by creators and boost their stories' engagement.

Instagram will also be adding another new feature 'Frames' which can give your image a Polaroid overlay on images that start out gray. You just need to shake your phone, a photo will appear. The way is the same as people do with actual Polaroid pictures. Reportedly, the 'Frames' feature was first introduced in April during Coachella.

Can 'Reveal' open a new Insta world?

Mosseri explained that Instagram has been going through changes that can boost original content from users. "We recommend to tuck the developing photo into a pocket or bag to hide it from bright light," Adam Mosseri highlighted.

Instagram will also add a music-based template feature that will enable users to share songs to their stories using prompts such as  "favorite song on X album" or "if you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life." The new feature 'Add Yours Music', builds on the existing stories prompt template for photos.
