Actor Indresh Malik, who is currently seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's web series Heeramandi, has opened up about his experience working with the filmmaker. Indresh played the role of a transgender in the show. The actor was all praise for the director and said that he allowed him to improvise the dialogues. Malik also recalled a hilarious conversation between him and Bhansali.

In an interview with Bollywood Now, Malik took a trip down memory lane and revealed that he had a small cameo in Bhansali and Alia Bhatt's Gangubai Kathiawadi. Malik said, "I am still in awe of Sanjay Leela Bhansali. I can't be in awe of the director and simultaneously work with the director. And as an actor I can't open up. Woh mere sapne mai aa jaate the raat ko. Woh mera gala daba dete the (He used to come in my dreams and strangle me). I told him this on the sets."

The actor then praised Sanjay Leela Bhansali and thanked him for allowing room for improvisations. "He allowed me to get into my comfort zone and allowed me to go in flow. He also gave me the permission to improvise my dialogues and I am really thankful for that," Malik said.

Indresh Malik said that he would ask a lot of questions to Sanjay Leela Bhansali and he would happily answer. "He is a perfectionist. If there is a term beyond perfectionist, he is that. I am a director's actor, I surrender." When asked about a memorable moment from the sets, Malik said, "There were fights and arguments."

Heermandi is currently streaming on Netflix. The series stars Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Richa Chadha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Shekhar Suman and Sharmin Segal in pivotal roles.
