Ex Mumbai Indians captain, Rohit Sharma once again failed to impress with the bat as the Indian skipper was dismissed for a paltry 4(5) during the MI vs SRH, IPL 2024 match at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Monday 6th May. Rohit was replaced by Hardik Pandya as the new skipper for the 5-time champions from the ongoing season onwards and the Indian star currently languishes in the 17th spot among the top run-getters, something which is not expected from the 37-year old. Rohit after his poor show against Hyderabad was visibly seen heartbroken and was possibly crying as per the visuals appeared on the TV screens.

Sharma just played five balls and managed to get a sole boundary. He was subsequently dismissed by SRH skipper Pat Cummins following a catch from Heinrich Klaasen.

Here is a look at the video which has gone viral all over social media:-

During the toss, Hardik Pandya sported his characteristic smile, a familiar sight during interviews. Despite choosing to bowl, he expressed his hope that Mumbai Indians would play with pride, for the badge, and for their devoted fans. Yet, beneath his calm exterior, the burden on his shoulders was evident. His team faced Sunrisers Hyderabad, who had previously scored a massive 277/3 against them in the season. What weighed heavily was the realization that another defeat would eliminate them from the playoffs race, making them the first team to face such a fate in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.

With a dazzling century from Suryakumar Yadav leading the charge, Mumbai Indians secured a convincing seven-wicket victory at the Wankhede Stadium on Monday, keeping their playoff hopes alive. Restricting Sunrisers Hyderabad to a below-par 173/8, Suryakumar's unbeaten 102 off 51 balls, along with Tilak Varma's contribution of 37 off 32 balls, formed a match-winning partnership of 143 runs.
