Kolkata Knight Riders pacer Harshit Rana pulled off a different celebration after taking a wicket against the Lucknow Super Giants, after facing heat from BCCI over his earlier celebrations in IPL 2024. He was handed a 100% fine on his match fee and one-match suspension for breach of IPL Code of Conduct as well. He did not go overboard with his celebration against Lucknow but still managed to 'tease' BCCI.

Seeing Rana's celebration against Lucknow, after he dismissed KL Rahul for 25, fans felt that he was teasing BCCI. After being reprimanded once for sending off Mayank Agarwal in the initial stages of the tournament, he was banned for a game after a similar act against Abishek Porel.

Rana kept a finger on his lips, with Kolkata's social media admin deciding to share the photo on their Twitter handle as well.

"Mr Harshit Rana, bowler, Kolkata Knight Riders, has been fined 100 per cent of his match fees and suspended for one match for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct during Match 47 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 against Delhi Capitals at the Eden Gardens," a statement from the board read last month.

Rana was found guilty of committing a Level 1 offence under Article 2.5 of the IPL's Code of Conduct. "Rana committed a Level 1 offence under Article 2.5 of the IPL's Code of Conduct. He admitted to the offence and accepted the match referee's sanction," the statement added.

"The player was earlier penalised under the same level and article of the IPL Code of Conduct," the statement said.

Rana, who picked up 2/28 during Kolkata's seven-wicket victory over the Delhi Capitals, dismissed Porel in the seventh over of Delhi's innings, giving the batter a bit of a send-off as he walked back.

During the game against the Sunrisers Hyderabad in March, Rana gave Hyderabad batter Mayank Agarwal a sharp stare after dismissing him and was fined 60% of his match fee.

On Sunday, deciding to bowl first did not go as per plan for Lucknow as Kollkata became the first side to cross the 200-run mark at the Ekana stadium.

Proving his worth with the willow once again, Sunil Narine (81 off 38 balls) went on a six-hitting spree, blasting seven maximums and six boundaries to take the visitors to 235/6.

Chasing an imposing total, Lucknow batters had to go from the word go but the hosts found it hard to get the big shots and were bundled out for a paltry 137 within the 17th over.

Rana picked three wickets on the day, dismissing Lucknow skipper KL Rahul, Krunal Pandya and Ravi Bishnoi, finishing with figures of 3.1-0-24-3.
