The upcoming Lok Sabha voting in Bengaluru on April 26 has spurred various businesses to offer incentives to encourage voter participation in the democratic process.

With over 1 crore eligible voters in Bengaluru, hotels, pubs, and taxi aggregators are enticing voters with discounts, freebies, and complimentary rides upon displaying their inked index finger. This isn't the first time such initiatives have been seen.

Complementary Dosa, Ghee Rice

For instance, Nisarga Grand Hotel on Nrupatunga Road is treating voters to complimentary butter dosa, ghee rice, and a beverage on polling day.

Free Mug of Beer

Deck of Brews, a resto-pub in Bellandur, is offering a free mug of beer and discounts to voters visiting on April 27 and 28. Owner Prafulla Raya expressed the desire to reward voters for their contribution to the nation's development.

Discounts in Restuarants

SOCIAL, another chain of pubs, is running a special campaign distributing bills promoting voting. Guests who return these bills after voting and show their inked fingers will enjoy a 20% discount on their meal for a week following the voting day in their respective cities.

Complementary Cab ride

Rapido, the taxi aggregator, is providing complimentary rides to differently-abled and senior citizen voters in Bengaluru, aiming to ensure equitable access to voting for all citizens.

Pavan Guntupalli, Rapido's Co-founder, stated, "We are undertaking this initiative to ensure that every voter in Bengaluru, Mysuru, and Mangaluru can successfully fulfil their duty by casting their vote... We want to specifically ensure that differently-abled and senior citizen voters have equitable access to exercise their democratic right."

Extended Bengaluru Metro Services

Furthermore, in support of voter convenience, the Bengaluru Metro services will be extended on April 26. The last trains from all terminal stations and the Majestic interchange will depart later than usual to accommodate voters participating in the elections.
