We might now be addicted to our feature-packed iPhones but 25 years ago all many of us wanted was a Nokia 3210. This simple device, which was first released back in 1999, went on to sell over 150 million units worldwide making it one of the most popular call makers ever made. Now this classic feature phone appears to be making a comeback with upgrades aimed at bringing it up to speed with the modern era.e

A recently leaked image claims to show what's coming next from HMD Global - the firm that now makes Nokia devices - and it's all about that 3210.

Marketing material, revealed by the team at NokiaMob, boasts that the "legendary phone is back" after a wait of 25 years.

An image of the device has also been teased with it appearing to feature a camera on the rear case along with a much bigger colour screen. Those owning the original model were only treated to a small and very basic 1.5-inch backlit monochrome LCD display.

The latest version may also get long battery life, full access to 4G data speeds and the all-important Snake game that so many of us enjoyed playing in the 90s.

"Paying homage to the original Nokia 3210 design, Nokia Icon has been rebuilt from the ground up, pairing a modern redesign with a retro interface for a real nostalgia trip," the leaked materials exclaim.

"Back for 2024 with a long battery life, Bluetooth, 4G connectivity, and more. And before you ask, yes it has Snake."

It's thought that a full announcement will be made next week with some speculating that it will cost €89 (£75). Hopefully, we'll have news of a full release and specs very soon.

The 3210 won't be the only new feature phone arriving in stores. Having joined forces with toy firm Mattel, HMD Global says it will release a Barbie Flip Phone this summer as well.

"The Barbie Flip Phone will arrive this summer 2024. Promising style, nostalgia and a much-needed digital detox, this retro feature phone will flip the script on smartphone culture and will be this summer's hottest accessory," HMD Global confirmed.

Full details are yet to be revealed but expect long battery life and plenty of Barbie pink.

Speaking about the launch, Ruth Henriquez, Head of Consumer Products, Publishing, and LBE, Mattel EMEA, said: "At the heart of Mattel is design and innovation, and this latest collaboration is another step forward in that direction. The Barbie x HMD launch promises to be an exciting moment for Barbie fans of all ages
