Lady Louise Windsor has been seen at one of the royal's favourite annual events - riding a muddy electric bike. The rarely-seen granddaughter of the late Queen Elizabeth was snapped today while out and about at the Royal Windsor Horse Show.

It was quite a family gathering in the grounds of Windsor Castle with mum Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh and dad Prince Edward nearby. It comes just a day after King Charles was seen at the show hugging niece Zara Tindall.

Lady Louise was spotted on a ENGWE EP-2 Pro bike. She seemed to be helping out at the show and was wearing a Royal Horse Show gilet, with her hair sensibly tied back.

Her mum, Sophie, appeared to be enjoying the day out and was spotted chatting away to people at the event. Prince Edward, the Duke of Edinburgh, could also be seen socialising.

The Royal Windsor Horse show was one of the late Queen Elizabeth's favourite annual events, and she attended it since she was a young girl. Each year, it attracts tens of thousands of visitors.

However, one year, a bit of a mix-up meant that her entry to the show was denied by a security guard who clearly took his role very seriously. The incident took place back in 1991 when the late Queen was 65 years old, and was denied entry to the show by the enthusiastic staff member for one simple reason; he didn't recognise her at all.

The guard is said to have later admitted that he thought that she was "some old dear" who had got lost. The event also holds special memories for Lady Louise who drove a carriage previously owned by Prince Philip - a year after he died.

The late Duke of Edinburgh is known to have left his beloved ponies and carriage to her in his will in 2021.

Lady Louise is said to enjoy life away from the spotlight. It has been reported that she worked for £7 an hour at a garden centre to save up for a secondhand car.

King Charles, who has been diagnosed with a form of cancer, kicked off front-facing engagements with an emotional visit to the Royal Windsor Horse Show on Friday. While he was there, he shared a sweet moment with his niece Zara Tindall, which an expert has claimed showed the depth of their "effortless connection".

Zara - equestrian and daughter of Anne, the Princess Royal - shared a hug with her uncle King Charles in one of his first public appearances since his doctors advised he has progressed well enough to restart some public appearances.

However, Charles won't be back at full steam just yet, with each engagement managed on a case-by-case basis, depending on how well he feels, and "remain subject to doctors' advice".
