Hollywood legend Will Ferrell has reportedly bought a stake in Leeds United.

Ferrell, 56, has long been a football fan - but he's now stepped up that interest to become an investor in Leeds. That's according to The Sun, who claim he's pumped a large sum of money into their US owners 49ers Enterprises.

His involvement with the Yorkshire club is set to be announced in the coming days. Ferrell is said to impressed by the passion of the English game, which he's fallen in love with as a result.

Sky Sports is bringing you 500 live football games to watch, as well access to Cricket, Golf, F1, Boxing, NFL, NBA and more across eight dedicated channels. Sky Sports is the only way to watch all the action this year.

He's already a co-owner of Los Angeles FC in the MLS. But he hopes his investment with the 49ers will help get the "sleeping giant" of Leeds back in the Premier League, the report adds.

They were forced to settle for the play-offs in the Championship after Ipswich claimed automatic promotion at their expense on the final day of the season.

Daniel Farke's side will now face Norwich City in the two-legged semi-final, looking to set up a date at Wembley with either Southampton, who beat them 2-1 at Elland Road on Saturday, or West Brom.

Ferrell, who boasts an estimated net worth of £127million, could be in attendance for the final on May 26 if they do make it there. He watched four matches in six days during a trip to England in February 2023.

He was seen drinking in a Wrexham pub before their home match against Wealdstone, before popping up on Sky Sports the next day when Man City hosted Aston Villa. He also attended the Merseyside derby and, rather bizarrely, Queens Park Rangers vs Sunderland.

Ferrell was long thought to be a Chelsea fan having posed in their kits on multiple occasions. But he clarified to Sky last year that he doesn't support the Premier League giants.
