Hull KR suffer triple injury blow as St Helens win comes at a cost

Oliver Gildart suffered a knee injury in the warm-up which saw him replaced by Jack Broadbent, who produced an excellent display on debut. But James Batchelor suffered an eye injury that saw him withdraw shortly after half-time and Elliot Minchella came off late on with a groin problem.

With Rovers playing Warrington in just five days time, head coach Willie Peters admitted to being uncertain whether they will be available for selection when they visit the Halliwell Jones Stadium next week.

"When you're playing against the top teams in the competition, you're always going to come out bruised and battered," Peters said. "But hopefully there's nothing too major. Hopefully, Batch is OK. Oli and Mini, I'm not sure whether five days will be enough."

Explaining Gildart's injury, Peters added: "He felt a bit of a pop, which is obviously not great. We'll get a scan and see where it's at but hopefully it's not so bad. But it's not great when he's saying he heard a pop. We'll wait and see.

"Before today it was pretty much a full squad to choose from. I don't think we'll have a full squad but we are a squad, so whoever makes that trip to Warrington, they're putting that jersey on and they'll do that proud.

"That's always what we've strived to do, we've been fortunate in terms of having the majority of our squad available, but it's rugby league, you're going to get those sort of injuries that are part of the game."
