Martin Kemp admitted to his son Roman Kemp that he believes he might only have 10 years left to life. Last month, it was announced the father-son duo were launching a podcast entitled, FFS! My Dad Is Martin Kemp.

Martin, 62, and Roman, 31, kicked-off the series by bravely discussing the topic of death. When asked how long he thinks he has left to live, the ex-EastEnders actor admitted: "10 years, I don't know!"

The Spandau Ballet star recalled the time he was diagnosed with a brain tumour, which left him accepting the fact he was going to die. Martin explained: "But I was the age of 34 when I went through all that brain tumour scare and I went through two years of my life thinking I was going to die.

"Every day, every year every month that I've lived has been a bonus. When I was 34 and I went through that brain tumour stuff, I was practically resigned to the fact I was gonna die."

He continued: "But I was quite happy, because I'd lived the most incredible experiences. I lived through the 80s in a rock band, the people I met, the things I'd done. When I was 17 I was flying around Europe on jets drinking champagne at 7am."

Martin confessed he made peace with dying, adding: "When I thought I was going to die I thought, you know what I'm quite happy. And that was back then, so every year that I live, every month that I'm alive now is a bonus."

This isn't the first time Martin and Roman have teamed up on a project. They have appeared on Celebrity Gogglebox and were recently announced as the new face of Vision Express.

But the duo have never recorded a podcast together. Opening up on the reason behind their new venture, the I'm A Celebrity star said: "I want to do things with you because I like that when I'm older, if I have grandkids, I have evidence to show my relationship with you."

It comes after Roman revealed the devastating reason behind his Capital FM departure. The TV personality recorded his final show with the radio station in March after a decade.

His decision to quit was partly because of the death of his close friend - Capital FM producer Joe Lyons - who took his own life in 2020 at the age of 31. Roman confessed he had struggled to move past the tragedy while working in the same studio, as he was forced to relive the day Joe died.

"Imagine a tragedy happened in your house - you're going to want to move," he said to The Mirror. "I went through such a horrible moment in that studio...I've been living that same day over and over again."

The One Show presenter added: "I'm ready to go 'OK, close that door now, don't keep going back living that horrible day'. Every day I walk in there and I see Joe...I think it's going to be good for me to move on with my life."
