Sheffield United are the first Premier League side in a 38-game season to concede 100 goals.

Nottingham Forest's third goal at Bramall Lane in a 3-1 win, netted by Callum Hudson-Odoi, brought the ton up for the Blades with two games remaining.

It has been a season to forget for Sheffield United who were officially relegated from the Premier League after a 5-1 defeat to Newcastle.

And now they've passed 100 goals conceded, they will have a place in the top-flight's history books.

Chris Wilder's men have endured a shocking year from start to finish, and they just want it to be over now.

They have amassed just 16 points, which as it stands, is the joint-third lowest in Premier League history.

They are currently on par with the Huddersfield team of 2018/19.

However, no team, since the Premier League became 38 games, has ever conceded 100 goals.

Even the Derby County side of 2007/08 only conceded 89 goals.

Plus, there is still a chance of Sheffield United becoming the leakiest defence in Premier League history.

They are currently tied with Swindon Town, who conceded 100 goals during a 42-game campaign.

But with Everton and Tottenham still to play, that record is almost certain to be smashed.

There have been plenty of low points in the season for the Blades, including losing 8-0 at home to Newcastle, 5-0 to Burnley away, 4-1 to the Clarets at home and a run of three home matches in which they conceded 16 goals without scoring.

The year has been shambolic from start to finish and Wilder is expecting a tough summer ahead.

Phil Jagielka reveals how Neil Warnock gave him a rollicking while naked at Sheffield United and thinks the Aberdeen players are in for a treat in the remainder of the Scottish season

Speaking after relegation was confirmed, he said: "It stings and it hurts. We have to own it. We have got so much work to do on the training ground. We have got to have a proper pre-season.

"Sheffield United is a really good football club. I think everyone understands that, but it has been a really poor season.

"I have still got another year left of my contract and I would like to think that the supporters can trust me. I'm enthusiastic and committed, along with my coaching staff, to get it right.

"We know exactly what direction we need to go in, what the culture is going to look like, and what our pre-season is going to look like.

"It is going to be a tough summer for everybody."
