Meghan Markle has been spotted at a swanky networking event in Montecito, amid swirling rumours that she's the cause of Prince Harry's alleged pre-UK visit blues.

Just days before Harry is due to fly back to Britain, the Duchess of Sussex was seen enjoying herself at an exclusive gathering in California.

Meghan made an appearance at the Rosewood Miramar Beach Hotel on Thursday, where she was front and centre at an event organised by Greycroft, a venture capital firm that collaborates with budding entrepreneurs.

Dressed down in a cream shirt and her hair styled in relaxed waves, Meghan's presence didn't go unnoticed as a fan quickly took to Instagram to share images of her at the event.

It comes following a backdrop of speculation suggesting Meghan's decision not to accompany Harry to the UK is causing tension, reports the Mirror.

At the Greycroft event, growth investor Brian Bustamante-Nicholson addressed the crowd, highlighting that each person there had been personally invited because "we want to work with you as investors and entrepreneurs, and we can't wait to build with you all."

A social media user shared snaps of Meghan at the event, captioning them: "In Business Mode: Yesterday, Meghan attended an invite only event, featuring a curated guest list of selected individuals at the Rosewood Miramar Beach Hotel in Montecito, just a stones throw from the Sussexes home. Thanks to an amazing follower of mine for giving me the heads up."

Meghan Markle has faced criticism for opting out of accompanying Prince Harry to the UK for the 10th anniversary celebrations of the Invictus Games. The reasons behind her decision to remain in the US have not been disclosed, but Royal commentator Tom Quinn suggested it could be due to lingering resentment towards the Royal Family.

"Meghan will be accused of being selfish by not coming to see King Charles and Kate. Everyone in the UK knows what it's like to have a family row, but few of us take family rows to the extreme as Meghan has done," Tom remarked to The News International.

He further commented: "People are beginning to ask why can't Meghan just grow up and accept that families fall out but that holding grudges is just selfish and immature."

Since stepping back from Royal duties four years ago, the Duchess of Sussex has rarely returned to the UK. She was present with Harry for Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee in June 2022 and for the Queen's funeral in September of the same year.

She also chose not to accompany her husband for King Charles' coronation in May 2023.
