Seny Dieng - 7

Made a couple of good saves in the game, including tipping one round the post just before Boro went and scored their second goal to go back ahead.

Luke Ayling - 8

The Boro supporters made their feelings clear on his future as Ayling ended an excellent loan spell at the club with two assists in the game. Latte Lath will be desperate to see him re-sign this summer.

Rav van den Berg - 7

The Player and Young Player of the Year capped an excellent first season at the club with a solid and commanding performance against a lively and difficult-to-deal-with Watford attack.

Matt Clarke - 8

Another big performance at the heart of the Boro defence. There were big headers, big blocks and big tackles in a performance that encapsulates his positive second half to the season after returning from injury.

Luke Thomas - 7

A pretty solid way to end what has largely been an underwhelming loan spell from Leicester. Most of Watford's threat came from the other side and Thomas battled well and also got forward well. He'll be disappointed not to have scored before he made way too.

Jonny Howson - 7

Capped another new contract with a solid performance after a shaky start. A few early passes went astray, but showing the value of his experience, he quickly turned it around to lead Boro to victory.

Law McCabe - 7

A big day for the young boy and what a mature performance it proved to be. He didn't once look out of place in the Boro midfield as he read the game well to nip in and win possession back a few times while also looking so calm and assured in possession.

Isaiah Jones - 7

Ended a largely positive season on a high by closing the scoring for Boro. A good finish to cap a lively performance and there is much to build on next season after getting back into his stride this season.

Alex Gilbert - 7

Not quite as lively as he was at Cardiff, but nevertheless, a really positive performance for Gilbert, which he very nearly marked with another stunning goal. Instead, step forward Gilbert the defender, after an incredible last-ditch tackle.

Finn Azaz - 7

Not always involved but kept probing throughout and once again found a moment to unlock the defence with his ball in behind for Ayling to run through and set up the Jones goal.

Emmanuel Latte Lath - 8

Another superb performance as he ends his season with an 11th goal in 12 games to take him to 17 for the season overall. Once again, he grafted so hard up top and was unlucky not to finish with more than just one.

Substitutions

Alex Bangura (For Thomas, 65') - 7 - Another positive cameo, you could see how much it meant for him to score the goal.

Dan Barlaser (For Howson, 65') - 6 - Positive when he came on, creating a great chance for Matt Clarke.

Lewis O'Brien (For McCabe, 71') - 6 - Steady away, but struggled to get up to speed in a fast-paced game before Boro ultimately killed it off.

Sam Greenwood (For Gilbert, 71') - 7 - Clever feet in the penalty area to create the goal for Bangura.

James Wilson (For Ayling, 90') - N/A
