KALAMAZOO COUNTY, MI -- Mobile homes were thrown about when a powerful storm and possible tornado blew through Kalamazoo County, as seen in a dramatic drone video shot by MLive.

The storms converged in Portage, forming a powerful cell that damaged buildings and temporarily trapped workers inside a partially collapsed FedEx facility on Tuesday, May 7.

East of there, the Pavilion Estates mobile home park, 6830 East N Ave., was heavily damaged and people were injured as the winds howled outside their homes, destroying 17 homes and damaging 173 others, the Kalamazoo County Sheriff's Office said.

Up to 16 people suffered non-severe injuries at Pavilion Estates, the sheriff's office said.

An aerial view of the damage shows homes in pieces and debris throughout the site. Some of the mobile homes are partially collapsed with roofs and walls missing.
